What Green business is viable for the Blue Ridge mountains of MD and VA?

The business case is that someone has 100 acres of mountain land in the Blue Ridge mountains in MD and VA and is looking for a green business to put in it, even if only for a few years.
Is creating a wind farm or solar energy possible?
Could a farmer farm the land using eco-friendly means and make more profit than the holding cost of the land?
How about something other than energy creation?
