While driving through Montana, Idaho, and Oregon, a lot of the sides of the mountains and hills have horizontal lines running across them. I first thought they were caused by animals, but they seem so even and numerous. Any ideas?
I’m sorry I didn’t clarify. The lines I’m refering to are not on exposed rock, but are more like ridges on the grassy slopes.
