Hiking is an endeavor that a person can undertake that can fill so many voids and do so many positive things for you and your body. This hobby or sport, however you want to classify it, is something that everybody should try at least once.
There is so much good in hiking, starting with the beauty and scenery only nature can provide. Taking in a nature walk or hike can do so much to revive your spirit and refresh a tired and fatigued mind. I love to get out, smell the fresh air and remind myself that all of my problems are actually very small.
A good hiking trail can put things in perspective for you. The stresses of life can become such massive worries as we allow ourselves to magnify their importance and impact on our lives. Taking in the vast and breathtaking scenery in nature can quickly put our problems back in perspective. Nature makes us feel small again and our problems seem smaller. A breath of fresh air washes away difficulties.
Getting the blood moving through the body has a profound effect on our minds and bodies as well. The heart pumps blood and oxygen through our systems reviving those beaten down organs and muscles. This also livens up the brain and gets things to firing again like they should. Take deep breaths and fill those lungs with fresh oxygen. Your mind and body will instantly perk up.
Taking on a hiking trip requires a bit of preplanning. Now, I would not say that you would have to hit every sporting goods store in town and build a pickup bed full of supplies to go on a trail hike. But, a few things are necessary for your safety as well as your enjoyment.
Hiking boots or shoes are a must. Make sure you get a good brand that fits you well. Don’t buy them a half inch small to make your foot look smaller. You will regret this later. You have my word on that. You want your foot to be able to expand and breathe fully. Now it should be mostly snug, but the toes should not be jammed into the end. A good pair of hiking boots or shoes should have a good grip for traction and stable walking.
Layered clothing is another requirement if it is a bit brisk. You will not be chilly for long once you get moving. The body has this amazing method of heating itself up quite a bit as the blood starts flowing. You should be able to strip off that jacket and store it easily in a fanny pack or a small pack worn on the back.
I always take a hydration system like the ones made famous by Camel Bak. These things are very nice to have and super easy to carry. The long tube just stretches over your shoulder and is handy at all times. When hiking, do not chug down your water. Make yourself take sips every five or ten minutes or so. You should be receiving a constant supply of water. It does not hurt to drink about a quart of water before you initiate a hike as well.
I bring a few other items along to make my hiking trip a bit more enjoyable. A compact pair of binoculars is nice to have to zoom in on the scenery and wild life. I also bring along a small digital camera so I can record some of the beauty. These photos make nice background for my computer back at the house. Bring sunglasses and sunscreen if you tend to burn. A high carbohydrate snack is nice to have for a shot of energy and fuel for the body.
Get online on the Internet and do some research on some local hiking trails. There are some great hiking trail guides available online that provide a wealth of information such as location, intensity, distance and geographical terrain types. Weather can be checked as well so you don’t get yourself into a nasty storm.
Many of these online guides will provide you with a free trial period before they charge anything. When the charges kick in, they are commonly insignificant; maybe just enough to make the web site owner enough money to justify his or her efforts.
Well, this wraps up your quick and hasty hiking pointer article. Remember, the idea is to enjoy nature and allow yourself to drift away. Do not take off on that trail to brainstorm about your job or problems. Let them go. I assure you; nature will not let you keep the stress for too long.
Good luck, be safe and drink lots of water.

I’ve asked this question before about campers, trailers, permanent sites at a camping ground in South Carolina.
I am doing alot of research here and many of my feedbacks have been negative about any bank or financial institute even considering a 2nd mortgage or loan to purchase one of these so called trailers in a campground.
I also am getting negative feedbacks on the resale value on these structures.
Anyone know, or how to go about looking for a reputable lender in South Carolina? I am in North Carolina and my broker does not know anyone nor does he have any advice for me on this situation. He told me to check in South Carolina.
So, here I am asking you.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

There is nothing I love more than to hike through the woods or up a mountain. However, I certainly don’t like the blisters on my feet that can be caused by cheap or old hiking boots.
If you are planning on a long hike on rocky trails, you are going to need a decent pair of hiking boots. Hold on a second. Let’s amend that statement slightly. If you are going on a hike of any duration on any type of trail, you are going to need a decent pair of hiking boots.
The reason for this is a combination of safety and stability. For example, if you are walking along a trail that is narrow, rocky, rough and on the side of a steep mountain, you are going to need footwear that can provide solid traction.
A pair of sneakers may be somewhat more comfortable, but the lack of traction makes them very unsafe to play around with. After all, would you really want to be slipping and sliding around on the side of a steep mountain? Probably not!
Now that you know that you are definitely going to need a solid pair of hiking boots; it might be time to go out and buy a pair. However, for some, the cost of the shoes may be prohibitive unless you find a venue for closeout hiking boots on sale.
Closeout Hiking Boots Can Be Found At Overstock Sales in Stores
The tried and true method of finding low cost hiking boots on sale would be to head to a shoe store or a retail store and shop around for overstock shoes that have been heavily discounted. Often, this is a great way to locate closeout hiking boots on sale. After all, why pay full price for totally new boots when boots that have been around on the shelves for a few weeks but didn’t sell would serve the same purpose.
If there was one problem associated with these types of sales is that the selection will be limited to the specific shoes in the store. So, what happens if you are not interested in those particular shoes? Well, you could shift your shopping to an online venue.
Online Closeout Hiking Boots Sales
If you are looking for the widest selection of closeout hiking boots sales then it would be best to search online. There are a number of overstock sites, auction sites and retail distributors that can provide tremendous selections for those needing reliable and sturdy hiking boots.
Online distributors are definitely worth checking into for hiking boots needs as they have lower overhead costs and can pass on the savings to you. A good outdoor online site will be able to ship for free and waive taxes! Yes, waive taxes.
One thing I suggest is that if you find a pair of hiking boots online you think you might like at a great price, go to your local outdoor shop and try them on. If you like them go home and get them online, that way you will always order something that you like. Good luck in finding the right closeout hiking boots, and above all else, enjoy the wilderness!

If you are a fan of the races, you have probably at least entertained the thought of camping out at the race with other anticipating race fans. There is something about the vibe when camping at a NASCAR race that can’t be beat, especially for those die hard fans out there that are truly thrilled b y it all. Getting NASCAR tickets is one thing, but actually having the opportunity to be on the infield as the race is going on is a unique experience in itself, one that no real race fan should have to live without having experienced.
There are different types of camping that can be done at a NASCAR race. Most people have RVs that they like to camp with because they can hook them up and be able to use the water, the facilities, and have electricity in the camper. There are also camping sites for NASCAR races that do not offer hook ups at all, although many of these facilities will make other arrangements for you to dispose of your waste and get clean water. Of course, there is always the option of camping in a tent and that is often the favorite option amongst those who would rather do things simply. Whichever method of camping you choose should not be hard to accommodate.
Why Bother Camping at NASCAR Races?
Many people who travel to NASCAR don’t see the point in camping, and the truth is that it is not for everyone. There are many people who make a tradition out of traveling to races like the Coca Cola 600 and the Daytona 500 and camping with a huge group of friends and associates. Then there are people who fly to town and stay in luxury suites; obviously the latter group might not appreciate the experience. There is a camaraderie to be had at camp sites that goes well with the vibrant NASCAR atmosphere.
Camping at NASCAR Is One Big Party
People choose to camp at NASCAR rather than get a room or stay at a bed and breakfast because of the type of experience it offers. It is a great way for a lot of people who are interested in one thing to get together and celebrate it. There is often drinking, cookouts, parties, games, activitiesyou name it, it is done at a NASCAR campout. It is a good place to bring little ones who you want to enjoy the races with you and teach them how to have some good, wholesome fun.
Where to Camp at NASCAR
Depending on what race you are attending and what track you will be at, there are several different places to camp. Some tracks allow camping on the infield only, while some tracks allow camping inside the track and outside it as well. Other places have campsites very close to the track that are designated for camping NASCAR fans as well, so the venue can change accommodations from place to place and race to race. Check with your race in advance so that you can reserve a spot, and let your friends and loved ones know in advance, especially if there is a distance to be traveled to the race itself.
Something to keep in mind about camping out at NASCAR races is that the more popular the race is and the bigger of a deal the event is, the harder it is going to be to get a space. Sometimes, they require that you reserve a camping space a year in advance or more and that is a bit too long for some people. A lot of things can change in a year, but usually the cost of reserving the space is not too much to ask to have the space reserved when demand for it is going to be so high once the event rolls around.
Camping at NASCAR takes organization. It takes planning, and most of all it takes the will to have a good time. There should only be one rule at a NASCAR camping event and it should be that non race fans and party poopers are not allowed!
