I own a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer and I’m assuming it’s the same interior lighting wise as a 2000 Ford Explorer. I need to know how to remove the two map lights in the front. I took off the plastic lense cover and tried everything I could think of and couldn’t figure out how to remove the two map lights. Also in the very back I couldn’t figure out how to get the plastic cover off the rear cargo light.
I am simply replacing the bulbs with some brighter, better qaulity bulbs. I am not permantly removing the lights.

Hi. I own a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer, and the turn signals and the hazards stopped working yesterday. I took the truck back out later in the day and they worked again. Now today, they’ve stopped working again. Why would this happen?

And with the answers I got, we pretty much narrowed the problem down to a bad flasher.

I bought a new flasher today from an auto parts store and went to install it. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find where the old one is. I’ve looked in the fuse box and it’s not in there. The manual doesn’t tell me either, and I can’t seem to find any information on the internet.
